Hours and Closings

Update 5/15/2013: Due to staff shortages the gallery will be open for limited hours this week.  We will be open on Friday, May 17 from 11 AM -2 PM and then returning at 1pm on Tuesday, May 21 at 1PM.  Apologies for the inconvenience.

During exhibitions, we are normally open Tuesday 1 - 4 pm; Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays 10 am - 4 pm; Saturday 1 - 4 pm or by appointment (call or email). To meet with a staff member in between exhibitions, please call the gallery at 508.755.5142, or email info [at] artsworcester [dot] org.

In winter, we close for inclement weather in accordance with the Worcester Public Schools.  If they are closed, so are we.

Driving Directions

From Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90)

From the west, take Exit 10 at Auburn to I-290 East, and see below.  From the east, take I-290 East.

From I-95 (Rhode Island)

Take I-95 North to Route 146. Take Route 146 North to I-290 East.

From I-95, I-93 or Route 3 (New Hampshire)

Travel South to I-495. Take I-495 South to I-290 West.

From I-290

Take I-290 to Exit 13, Kelley Square.  From 290 East, turn left onto Madison Street, and from 290 West turn right onto Madison.  Follow Madison through Kelley Square (ignore the multiple streets that converge at Kelley Square, and drive through it as if you are at 6 on a clock face and exiting at 12; the Hess gas station will be on your immediate right as you head out of Kelley Squre on Madison Street).  To reach the Freemasons' parking lot, turn left on Beacon Street (one block before Main Street; you'll see the sign for the Ivy Corset Building) and enter their parking lots at Ionic Avenue).  To park on the street in front of ArtsWorcester, you may pass their lots, turn right on Sycamore Street, and right again on Main Street.

Parking

The Freemasons have generously granted ArtsWorcester visitors parking in their two lots off of Beacon Street.  Beacon runs parallel to Main Street at the southern end of our block (away from Chandler/Madison).  Their two lots are located on the other side of their large brick building that faces Ionic Avenue (you can't miss its Grecian columns).  Park and walk down Ionic to ArtsWorcester.  Do not park in the gravel lot across the street from the Aurora.

The closest municipal lot is the Federal Plaza Parking Garage, at 570 Main Street, near the Hanover.  Open from 6:30 AM until midnight Monday through Saturday, and 9:30 AM until midnight on Sunday; $2/an hour.
