As a photographer, Edward Bissell has spent his forty-year career exploring different visual perspectives of everyday objects and events. He explains, “These are the things we see everyday, but don’t see, as we take so much of what’s around us for granted. From this, I have come to appreciate my surroundings and their singular simplicity.” Bissell’s body of work includes portraiture, landscapes, and abstract photography presented in both traditional prints and digital prints on watercolor paper. Bissell has worked for the last twenty-two years as a Master Printer for E.B. Luce. His professional experience also includes work as a freelance photographer, a photography instructor at Holyoke Community College, and as an assistant photographer at Amherst College.
