College Show 2013

The Ninth Annual Colleges of the Worcester Consorium Student Art Exhibit
February 15, 2013 - March 21, 2013

The opening of the Ninth Annual Colleges of Worcester Consortium Student Art Exhibit, better known as the College Show, at ArtsWorcester, 660 Main Street, is postponed until Friday, February 15th, from 6-8 PM.  The exhibition and the reception are free to the public.  The exhibition, on view beginning Wednesday, February 13th, will run through March 21, 2013.

The College Show is a juried exhibit of the best art coming out of COWC colleges and universities, including Anna Maria College, Assumption College, Becker College, Clark University, College of the Holy Cross, Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Worcester State University.  It is a rare opportunity to experience Worcester as a college town, and to see its wealth of new artistic talent.

Painting, photography, sculpture, works on paper, and new media are all eligible for consideration by the juror.  The juror for the 2013 College Show is Carol Keller, Professor of Art at Amherst College. Professor Keller has awarded first, second, and third prizes, as well as honorable mentions.  Cash awards are given with the prizes.

Honorable mentions have been awarded to Structure in Shambles by Katie Candee, Dad's Last Tomatoes by Laurie McCrohon, Tokyo, Japan by Micheal Potiker, and Self Portrait by Alexander M Vera Morales.
