Natural Memories
Natural Memories
“After you have exhausted what there is in business, politics, conviviality, and so on - have found that none of these finally satisfy, or permanently wear - what remains? Nature remains.” Walt Whitman
The Franklin Square Society Salon Gallery at the Hanover Theatre for Performing Arts (Worcester, MA) – Natural Memories, an exhibition by Margaret Emerson, opens July 9 and will run through October 16, 2012. Using pastel and acrylic, Emerson’s paintings capture the distinctive colors, textures and sensations experienced in nature. Representing memories and impressions, with both complexity and subtlety, Emerson’s works express natural forms in an abstract way. The viewer is left with a sense of serenity, harmony, and an appreciation for nature’s extraordinary splendor.
An artist reception will take place at the Gallery at the Hanover Theatre on Wednesday September 12, between 6-7:30 PM. This event is free and open to the public.
