50 Golden Dreams of the Chrysalis
50 Golden Dreams of the Chrysalis
Artist Reception: Friday October 7, 2011 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Franklin Square Society Salon Gallery, 2 Southbridge St, Worcester.
Michelle Sarkisian, a local art teacher, presents twenty of her fifty artworks in the series 50 Golden Dreams of the Chrysalis. The images are childlike, playful, and imaginative which is her intention. She approaches the work by sketching with her non-dominate hand; drawing inspiration from nature, dreams, and old photographs. Her aim in exhibiting the series of work is to surround the viewer in a realm of “thought and beauty.”
Michelle comments on the places she creates:
“I would like to invite you in. I am creating places. Places that do not really exist but need to. These places are where I put my thoughts, my hopes, and my fears. Feel free to add your own. These places are safe and guarded. In these places you will find many things. Words. Houses. Trees. Look deeper and you will find more. I create small places for the intimacy. They become more personal, almost secretive. You can hide there and no one will find you.”
