Exposing through Disposing

Exposing through Disposing is a series of sculptures by Lucy Marcigliano.  As a storyteller through sculpture, Lucy has become an experienced trash picker who delights in rescuing the unwanted.  Her sculptures portray different aspects of home, business, and school life in and around Worcester and their interconnection among what we buy, what we use, and what we cast off in our daily lives.  The intended message is one that reflects the values and subtle, everyday happenings in our community.

Lucy is a visual artist who began her artistic career at the age of five; she now teaches full-time in Shrewsbury Public Schools.  Lucy’s current body of work is supported in part by a 2010 grant from the Worcester Arts Council.
