States of Flux is a collection of mixed media works by Ryan Foley.  Ryan’s physical process of working is multifaceted.  He implements the use of different technologies and materials including photography, digital manipulation, digital projection, house paint, spray paint, acrylic enamel, wood, masonite, and found objects.  For Ryan, the synthesis of these materials serves as an unrestrictive palette to assign new personal meanings to quotes, images, songs, and memories.

Mr. Foley describes his works and states, “Each element holds significance: each letter and word, each texture and layer, each figure and design, each paint drip, all ‘negative’ space, each title, each reference, feeling, and memory evoked.  They all hold equal importance to the visual composition and contextual make-up of each individual piece and body of work.”
