Horizons is a body of work by artist Erika Davis Wade who began exhibiting her work publicly in 1980. She has spent the past 29 years involved in local community art projects as well as in solo and group exhibitions.

When asked to describe the motivation for her work, Wade states, "A lifetime of observations of the landscape while walking, looking out windows, riding in cars, or through a camera's lens serves as the inspiration of my paintings. Old childhood drawings found in attic boxes reveal a life-long interest in drawing and painting landscapes."

"Watching the environmental changes and loss of open space are other incentives to capture landscapes in paintings," Wade continues. "Once finished, the place is saved in that moment forever. Many of my paintings are of favorite and familiar places. The color and shapes in landscapes continuously catch my eye and lodge in my mind. My paintings are reflections of these visions."
