Silent Conversations is a body of work ARTSWorcester member Linda Dagnello completed since returning to painting over the past two years. The figure paintings are a glance into the private moments when conversations are with oneself - uncensored and intimate reflections upon life's wide scope of scenarios. Others portray a quiet escape into the words of an author or the non-verbal communication between fellow musicians. Linda states, "I feel that contemplation, whether joyful or melancholy, holds a visual beauty and can be celebrated as a time that enables new strength. My emphasis on the intensified lighting in selected paintings is used to heighten the mood and create a cocoon of sorts around my subjects. I am blessed with a family of artists who are consistently at the ready to pose for the photographs from which I work. They are an integral part of my creative process, and my connection with them is as inspiring and exciting as is my application of paint to the canvas."

Linda's career in graphic design until recently took much of her creative time. Primarily self taught, she embraces the connection between fine and graphic arts. Linda's technique is affected by the influences of shape, color, texture, and composition in the designs infiltrating one's daily life. Augmented by an independent study of the masters as well as contemporary painters, Linda finds "her two worlds collide quite joyfully." A combination of these varied influences has helped the artist develop a technique evident in this exhibition.
