History

Established in 1979, ARTSWorcester (AW) is a private, non-profit members’ organization whose purpose is to foster collaborative programs among artists and cultural organizations in the Greater Worcester area by providing opportunities and services for visual, performing, and literary artist members. ARTSWorcester advocates for programs of mutual benefit to the cultural, business, educational, and municipal sectors of the community. These programs include: open studio tours; literary, performing and visual arts lectures, workshops, exhibitions, concerts, and events; collaborative arts festivals; and educational enrichment. ARTSWorcester’s Aurora Gallery is the only professionally managed non-profit membership gallery in Central Massachusetts in which artists can exhibit new work, perform the literary word, as well as present innovative musical performances.
