ARTSWorcester presents: Biennial 2007May 11 through June 22, 2007 at the ARTSWorcester Aurora Gallery, 660 Main Street, Worcester, MA May 8, 2007 Biennial 2007, ARTSWorcester’s 13th Biennial Exhibition, is one of the largest juried shows in Central Massachusetts and will be on view from May 11 – June 22, 2007 at ARTSWorcester’s Aurora Gallery at 660 Main Street, Worcester. The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Friday, May 11, 2007 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. ARTSWorcester’s Biennial 2007 features some of the finest work by established and emerging local visual artists and is an opportunity for these artists to have their work judged by outstanding professional curators. Artwork on exhibit in Biennial 2007 will represent the categories of painting, photography, works-on-paper, sculpture, and mixed media. The Worcester Art Museum, through its Hoche-Scofield Scholarship Fund, has provided $2,500 for cash awards to 16 artists in the five categories. Visitors to Biennial 2007 will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artwork through the Viewers’ Choice Award which will be presented at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday, June 21, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Over two hundred and fifty works from local artists were submitted to be judged by professional curator Nick Capasso and others of the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park. The resulting show of 95 works by 74 artists will be exhibited on both floors of the Aurora Gallery. Biennial 2007 award winners are:

Fuller Foundation, the Worcester Cultural Commission, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency; the Hoche-Scofield Scholarship Fund of the Worcester Art Museum, and Davis Publications. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
