ARTSWorcester invites you to the Opening Reception of the first show of our fall season. PSYCHE is a group show featuring seven ARTSWorcester members whose work is most thought provoking. The paintings, sculpture and video art in this exhibition reflect the workings of the artist’s mind as the center of their creativity. It illustrates how thought and emotion consciously and unconsciously enter from this inner world and stimulate the process of making art, as well as the outcome.

Don Hartmann’s large mixed media portraits command attention and reveal as much about the artist as they do about the subject. Sarah Jeppson demonstrates her superb drawing skills in a new series of spooky scratchboards. John Lantz’s quietly reflective paintings expose the timelessness and folly of human nature. Allen Levine walks his own artistic path with his self titled ‘Watermark Art’ and video. Tasha Robbins sends us her quirky, wonderfully painted alternative format pieces from New Orleans. Tom Stanford’s superlative ‘Subtractionalist’ sculpture and 2D work are amazing. Lawrence Strauss exposes himself in a series of self portraits.

Will the viewer’s PSYCHE be affected by what is experienced in this exhibition? Hmmmm? Join us and find out.
